Refer to the section entitled; Return What You Receive. Giving in not all about money (monetary). As a member of the local church, we are required to give in terms of Time, Talents, and Treasures. Oftentimes, people will join the church and expect the church’s nursery or youth department to be staffed with people to teach and monitor their children. That takes commitment (Time and Talent) from members that are equipped and willing to participate in that area of ministry.
In other cases; members without transportation require the assistance of the bus ministry, the church prints bulletins and other administrative items, in order for the church to be comfortable – heat, air-conditioning, and cleaning of the facilities must be provided, and the list goes on. In order to fulfill such needs, it requires that members not simply tithe but go beyond tithing and bring their offering. (See Malachi 3:8-10). Prince of Peace uses a number of different giving apps; Givelify, Square, Cashapp, and PayPal. Most members have downloaded the Givelify and Cashapp apps. These members enjoy the flexibility of paying their tithes and contributing when they’re check is direct deposited or at whenever they decide. They love the fact that they do not have to be at church to contribute. This app works great for people who know they will be traveling, on vacation, will not be in attendance at worship. Other members choose to either run their card during the worship in giving at morning worship or before worship service begins.
The other option that is not used as regularly is through PayPal. There is a PayPal link on our website. Although POPMBC uses electronic apps, a number of members still choose to pay with cash or check and that is perfectly fine. We do not want the process to prevent members from being able to give. You should choose the method that works best for you.
